Brother Franklin (Frank) Abbott Newhouse was born in Raleigh, NC on 9 September 2001. He is the Grandson of Brother John France, a Life Member of the S.U.V.C.W.

Frank joined the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War as a Junior Member of the Thomas H. Ruger Camp #1 in 2012. He was promoted to full membership after reaching the age of 14 in 2015, and was initiated into the Camp on July 9, 2016. Frank has supported the Camp in the office of Guide and has performed the duties as the Acting Chaplain upon the absence of the Camp Chaplain. In December 2017 he was elected to the office of Chaplain. He has participated with the Camp at both the Fort Fisher and Bentonville Battlefields.

His Civil War ancestor is his Great-Great-Great Grandfather Corporal William Wages who served in Company E of the 7th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry from 1861-1864.

Brother Newhouse attends Wake Forest North Carolina High School where his favorite subjects are mathematics and history. He is an honor student and a member of the football team.

He is active in his Church, serving as a volunteer to younger children and is a member of the Teen Youth Group.
